Brittany - Certified Reiki Practitioner
Brittany was attuned to Reiki Level II by Rhonda in 2015 and joined the team at Wellness Uprising in 2017. Her sweet, heart-centered demeanor makes her the perfect healer for participants of UMMA Community Clinic's Black Visions of Wellness (BVOW) program, funded by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Brittany’s Reiki practice serves as a reminder to her personal commitment to wellness and her passion to serve her community on their “wellness journey.” She is presently studying to become certified and attuned to Reiki Level III (a.k.a. Reiki Master) so she can continue to share the gift of Reiki with others.
Brittany graduated from UCLA in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in World Arts & Cultures. In 2013, she became a Certified Classical Pilates Instructor with Whole Body Method. For the past 10 years, she has worked and volunteered with youths in a variety of settings including classrooms and community centers. In 2015, she spearheaded the launch of the Urban Chefs Academy Program, offering healthy cooking classes to four schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She now limits her community organizing efforts to provide a variety of wellness services. She continues to provide healthy cooking demonstrations through the Black Women for Wellness Kitchen Divas Program. Brittany also guides private clients through Pilates at Elevate Physical Therapy and Fitness. Additionally, she is a student on the path to pursue occupational therapy with the intention to promote a lifestyle of wellness on a variety of levels.
Monisha - Womb Healing, Certified Reiki Practitioner, Certified Colon Hydrotherapist
Monisha (a.k.a. "Mo") is deeply committed to teaching others about the benefits of holistic healing through cleansing and detoxing. She is a woman in touch with all parts of her 'self' who commits wholeheartedly to each and every client she treats. Mo is a beautiful soul who combines knowledge, skills, wisdom and genuine tough love to help clients heal themselves. She is founder of Moya Body Care in Torrance, California, a healing space offering colon hydrotherapy, Reiki, whole body cleansing and detox therapies and vaginal steaming (V-Steaming).
In partnership with Wellness Uprising, Moya Body Care offers sacred womb healing, using V-Steaming as a means to loosen and release unwanted energy and blocks to bring relief to women suffering from heavy menstrual bleeding, sexual trauma such as rape or molestation, painful menstrual cramps, post traumatic stress symptoms, dark purple or brown blood at the onset or end of menses, reproductive scar tissue, fibroids, uterine weakness, uterine prolapse and endometriosis.
V-Steaming is based on an ancient Korean practice that uses specially selected herbs to release unwanted energy and internally cleanse the vagina and uterus. Sessions last 45-60 minutes and clients emerge feeling uplifted, relieved, supported, deeply relaxed, clear and renewed.
Womb healing sessions are a covered benefit as part of UMMA Community Clinic's BVOW program when participants are referred by Wellness Uprising.
If you wish to purchase a V-Steam or colon hydrotherapy session, call Mo at Moya Body Care - (562) 685-0818, Monday - Friday 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturday, 9 AM to 3 PM.
Rhonda - Founder of Wellness Uprising, Certified Reiki Master Teacher and Chakra Therapist, doTERRA Wellness Advocate,
Rhonda is a seasoned certified Reiki Master Teacher and Chakra Therapist with more than 10 years' experience. She has a Bachelors Degree in Spiritual Healing and is a gifted intuitive empath.
Rhonda is known for her professionalism, gentle spirit and ability to remain calm under fire. She is suprisingly non- 'woo-woo.' This may be why WU was selected as the sole Reiki service provider for UMMA Community Clinic’s BVOW program, funded by Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.
With an inherent love and abiding respect for Mother Earth, Father Sky and the power of nature, Rhonda responded to an ancestral calling to be a community and world healer, an ability inherited from her grandfather, T.J. Champ, a minister of Blackfoot and African American heritage. She began her journey in the 1990's facilitating women's herbal cleansing groups.
In 2005, Rhonda founded WU, now located in Westchester, California, where clients find relief from pain, anxiety, insomnia, stress, depression, post traumatic stress symptoms, energetic imbalances, substance abuse and general health issues. She is a frequent blogger, published writer, and a lifelong student of the healing arts.
Fueled by her passion to empower others to self-heal, Rhonda develops workshops that are enjoyed by people around the world, including in person and Online Reiki certification programs for beginners and seasoned practitioners. Her mission is to help people discover and access their innate ability for whole body healing.
