How to communicate with Spirit

Communicating with Spirit can be much like making a phone call.

  1. Clear the line. Minimize behaviors that clog and 'fog' mind and body. Processed foods, alcohol, caffeine, tobacco & other toxic substances, loveless human interactions, meaningless sex, addictive behaviors, fear-based thoughts and actions create energetic debris and blockage. If you're unable to hear what God is saying, do a whole body cleanse. Make it realistic, one you can commit to and complete. Stay hydrated, as water is an energy conductor and is a currency for accessing the higher-self.
  2. Dial the number. Ask Spirit what she wants you to know, or ask what you want to know. Tell him you're ready to hear. Welcome Divine into your world during sleep and waking hours. Open your heart to receive any and all messages that are meant for you.
  3. Listen. HELLO?! Pay attention to the vibrations around you. Journal. Record your dreams. Listen for repeated lyrical themes in songs on the radio. Write it down when you feel a flip in your gut or a pulsation in your forehead. Watch for synchronicities and the recurrence of certain numbers or colors, finding pennies or feathers on the ground. Don't ignore strangers who say things to you -- even if you think they're off balance. Sometimes, these people are mitigating psychic phenomena that they don't understand that's what makes them behave 'oddly.' Hear the words and see if they resonate with you. What you do with the information you receive is up to you.

The healing power of fragrant plants

Smells have a phenomenal ability to shift perception and mood. The burning of incense in religious rituals is ages old. This practice is believed to create specific spiritual effects and to raise vibrations into closer alignment with God. Each scent brings a different energy for attracting or repelling. Here is a brief list of flowers and scents that can be used to improve your spiritual and personal space. Use them in essential oils or beautify your home or altar with the actual plant.

  • Acacia dispels worry and attracts good luck
  • Angelica inspires confidence
  • Basil reduces anxiety and opens energy to see things from another's perspective. Increases intuition.
  • Bergamot raises heart and soul vibrations to promote happiness.
  • Chamomile repels negativity and brings a fresh perspective.
  • Cinnamon restores a zest for living and motivates people to be more outgoing.
  • Geranium levels out the emotions and brings balance to one's life.
  • Lily strengthens intuition and nurtures relationships.
  • Myrrh increases spirituality and supports deep meditation.
  • Patchouli promotes peace, cooperation and emotional balance.
  • Rosemary purifies and increases confidence and creativity.

Do you need psychic protection?

When people hear "psychic protection," they tend to think witchcraft, the occult and Hollywood's extreme depictions of the supernatural. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult for us to understand the many signs of psychic attack. To say that something is 'psychical' is simply to say it pertains to the human soul or mind (as opposed to the physical). Psychic protection is about more than warding off the "evil eye." You can benefit from psychic protection if you:

  • Lack motivation
  • Have nightmares or bad dreams
  • Are grieving a death or the end of a relationship

  • Have anxiety, panic attacks or feel nervous
  • Are a person who lends an ear for others to share their problems
  • Feel intimidated by someone
  • Are bullied by others
  • Are in a helping profession (therapist, personal trainer, counselor)
  • Feel insecure or lack confidence
  • Have financial problems that never seem to go away
  • Do not feel safe
  • Are intuitive, empathic, clairvoyant or have other psychic sensitivities
  • Have chronic illness

Psychic protection refers to the restoration and protection of a sound mind. It should be practiced every day.

Clearing space in your bathroom

A thought that has always kind of freaked me out is that there is no new water on the planet. Think about it. The water we use to cook with, drink and bathe in has all been used before. Scary, huh? Water is naturally recycled again and again and again. So it stands to reason that we can benefit a great deal by properly energizing and balancing the room where water is most plentiful in the home ... the bathroom. If you're a healthcare worker, food preparer, massage therapist or energy and light worker, you probably wash your hands in a bathroom several times a day. This is the place where we wash away the sludge of the day and ask to be cleansed and renewed. Many people bathe at night and frequently carry whatever energy they pick up in the bath or shower directly to bed, where it has all night do its work. Taking extra steps to bring good energy into the bathroom pays off in spades! here are a few simple suggestions that anyone can use.

  • Take a grounding and cleansing bath. Add 15 drops of high quality patchouli oil to the water. Add a black obsidian crystal to soak up negative energy. Soak for at least 20 minutes. Make sure you cleanse your crystals before reusing.
  • Open drains and the centrifugal pull of an open toilet can disrupt the flow of energy in the bathroom. When not in use, make sure the toilet lid remains closed.
  • Hang round faceted crystals from the ceiling on a 9-inch red cord. Why 9-inches? The number 9 is a complete cycle, always maintaining its identity: 1 x 9 = 9; 2 x 9 = 18 (1+8) = 9; 3 x 9 = 27 (2+7) = 9, and so on. Not only does the number 9 maintain its own value, it also harmonizes with other numbers to preserve their identity: 1 + 9 = 10 (1+0) = 1, 2 + 9 = 11 (1+1) = 2, 3 + 9 = 12 (1+2) = 3, etc. To get extra mileage from crystal spheres in the bathroom, light candles and feel the positive energy expand and spread around the room.
  • Smoky quartz is another great bathroom crystal. Place it in your bath water or attach a piece to the shower head. This will clear the water of any negative energy picked up from recycling. Again, don't forget to periodically cleanse your crystals.

Sit in a chair with your back straight and your feet flat on the floor.

Close your eyes and imagine a protective and loving energy streaming from above and flowing downward through the top of your head. Feel it moving down through the center of your body, past your neck, chest, torso and out of your tailbone. Now imagine there is an anchor at the bottom of this beam of energy as it passes out of your tailbone down through the floor to the core of Mother Earth. Feel that anchor lock in place at the Earth's core. Now visualize this protective and loving energy expanding to form a protective cylinder around you that cannot be penetrated.

Hold that protective and grounding vision as you do the following breathing exercise: 

  • Hold your nostrils closed with your index finger and thumb.
  • Keeping one nostril closed with your thumb, remove your index finger and inhale through the open nostril.
  • Now close the open nostril with your index finger, and release the opposite nostril with your thumb; exhale through the open nostril.
  • Now, inhale through the open nostril through which you just exhaled.
  • Close the open nostril with your thumb, release the opposite nostril with your index finger and exhale through it.
  • Repeat this breathing pattern 10 - 20 times, alternating nostrils each time you inhale and exhale.
  • Finish by taking 3 deep, cleansing breaths. 

This breathing exercise can be used any time for mental clarity. It also works well in the bath or shower with aromatherapy grade essential oils.
