LESSON 2: the human energy field

There is much more to the physical body than can be seen with the naked eye. Like a sphere, our vital force energy illuminates around the body in several layers. It’s called an aura. Universal energy enters the body through the chakras and runs along energy pathways called meridians.

The body’s aura is summarily referred to as the subtle body. It vibrates at a different wavelength and frequency than the physical body. It is sometimes perceived as colorful layers that surround the body. Some sensitives are able to see and/or feel this energy. These layers can extend up to 30 meters beyond the physical body. The aura can be seen using either Kirlian photography or an aura cloud camera.

Auras vary in size, clarity, density, and color. The overall appearance and vibrancy are indicative of the state of health of the individual. The healthier you are, the brighter your aura. When you are unwell, your aura constricts and tries to conserve energy. During these times it may appear dull, lifeless, and static.

The subtle body has seven layers of light, each vibrating at a higher frequency than the previous one. These layers are also known as “subtle bodies,” and each has a specific function. The energy of the subtle bodies enters and leaves the body through the chakras. It moves along energy channels called nadis and meridians.

Disease in the body can arise when energy in the subtle bodies or chakras becomes congested or under-/over-stimulated. When we experience problems in one body, the others are affected. Energy healing, such as you are learning in this course, aims to bring the subtle bodies and chakras into alignment.

The energy body connects with the physical body at birth through the Crown chakra. It is anchored into the body through the Root chakra and exits along the same path at the time of death. Sometimes the energy body may take temporary leave. Examples are during a near death experience or a coma. In these cases, the golden thread which connects the subtle body to the physical body is never entirely broken.

The energy body remains connected to the physical body during incarnation through energetic systems such as the aura, chakras, meridians and nadis. When the energy body leaves, the physical body either sleeps or dies.

When the physical body separates from the energy body during sleep, it is called astral projection. Astral projection during sleep is called sleeping astral projection. This occurs when your Higher Self is setting you up for an experience and life lesson.

When the energy body leaves the physical body permanently, it is called physical death, but it is not death for the energy body, which returns to the spiritual planes to carry on with its life lessons.

Of all the bodies, the physical body vibrates at the slowest and lowest frequency, causing it to appear solid. This is how we see things through human eyes --- it’s just a small bit of the light spectrum. Some animals, like dolphins, can see the infrared and ultraviolet light spectrum, which is like being able to see three of our higher vibrating bodies.

When someone presents with a chakra that is persistently out of balance, a one-on-one energy healing session may be needed to balance and clear the chakra system.  An individual is divided into seven bodies that form from birth through the first seven years of life. As the individual ages, each energy body is formed; it goes on to develop in its own time. A rough estimation is as follows:

  1. The physical body houses the other six bodies and forms from birth through the first seven years of life.

  2. The etheric body grows from ages seven to 14 years. This is the time of emotional development. It provides a blueprint for the physical body and its organs.

  3. The astral body evolves from ages 14 to 20 years.

  4. Between ages 21 to 28 years, the mental body takes full form.

  5. The normal period of growth for the spiritual body is 28 to 35 years of age.

  6. The cosmic body typically grows and matures from 35 to 42 years of age.

  7. Finally, the nirvana body, where one is no longer corporeal, is the stage of body-lessness.

All bodies feed into one another and can impact the others. The energy body carries our consciousness from one lifetime to another and holds our consciousness in-between lives when we are in the spirit realms. It also stays with us when we choose an incarnation that is not of a physical nature on earth, but in another dimension and reality. It carries imprints of past life physical bodies, including physical characteristics and traumatic injuries that can impact us across multiple incarnations. The energy body can also contain imprints of impending diseases and if the cause of the disease is not identified and healed, the disease may descend into the physical body.
