READY FOR LOVE

This ritual is for people who are ready to find the right one. Perhaps you were hurt in the past and have been decidedly single for years. Maybe your beloved passed on and your grief has taken the place of a loving relationship for a while to allow space and time for healing. Whatever your reason for shrinking or abstaining from love, if you feel now is the time, this spell is for you.

Items Needed

  • Olive oil for strength

  • Dried caraway to attract your right mate

  • Pen and paper

  • Small stick pin for writing on candles

  • 2 pink candles for love —- one male and one female or two males or two females, whatever your orientation. If you are open to both male and female lovers, use one male and one female candle.

  • Dried lemon peel for friendship and endurance over the years

  • Vervain to attract lovers

  • Jasmine to attract spiritual love

  • Cumin for fidelity

  • Pink rose petals to attract love

  • Basil for protection and happiness

  • Dried orange peel for good luck

  • High John the Conqueror for courage

  • Dragon’s blood incense for potency

  • Rose quartz heart to open heart chakra

  • Knight of Cups Tarot card representing the special man

  • Ace of Cups Tarot card for opportunities for new love to enter

  • The Lovers Tarot card for love

  • 2 of Cups Tarot card for a powerful bond

  • 10 or Pentacles for a stable and well-established relationship

  • A plate

  • Parchment paper for your petition

What to do

  • Ground & center

  • Cast a circle and call the four quarters

  • Give serious consideration to the characteristics you desire in the right partner. Write it all down on the parchment paper.

  • Using a mortar & pestle, combine the herbs. As you add each, say aloud what it brings to the spell. For example, as you add cumin into the mortar say aloud:

Cumin, for fidelity.

  • Grind the herbs together. You don’t need a fine powder, just for the herbs to be well mixed.

  • On the candle that represents you, inscribe your name and astrological sign with a pin. State your intention aloud.

  • Anoint your candle with olive oil and set aside.

  • Take that candle that will represent your desired lover. State the intention that ir represents your desired partner. Anoint the candle remembering stroke toward yourself to draw the love to you.

  • Pour the herbal mixture onto the plate and roll the candles through the herbs several times.

  • Turn the candles so that they face each other.

  • Place the Tarot cards in front of the candles and set the rose quartz heart in front of the pair.

  • Write your petition on the parchment paper. Make sure it speaks in the present tense, for example:

I have a loving, adoring and caring partner who supports my greatest well-being and respects my dreams.

  • Light the dragon’s blood incense and the candles. Read your petition aloud.

  • Sit for a while and envision yourself with the mate of your dreams. See the two of you together doing things you’d do that bring you both joy. Feel the feeling of the relationship you want.

  • Say the following:

Aphrodite, bring love to me.

A (man/woman/person) of my dreams, a (man/woman/person) of my desires.

Call (him/her/them) forth speedily.

Call (him/her/them) forth now; I’m ready.

As I will it, so shall it be.

I thank you, might Aphrodite!

  • Repeat this spell for 15-20 minutes every day for 7 days.

  • On the final night, after reading your petition, fold the parchment paper 3 times. Fold in 1/2 toward you. Then, turn it clockwise and fold it again. Repeat until you’ve folded it 3 times.

  • Light the petition using one of the flames from your candle.

  • When the candles have burned down, bury the remaining candle wax and ashes.
