RELEASE ENERGY FROM AN ENDED RELATIONSHIP

Neil Diamond said a mouthful when he wrote, "Breaking Up is Hard to Do." Whether it's the end of a romance, separation of a friendship that no longer works for you, leaving a job, or severing a business partnership, relationship endings are complicated. Feelings of insecurity, sadness, anger, disappointment or melancholy can last for months. Your emotional health depends on your ability to appropriately grieve the loss and move on after a reasonable amount of time.

This ritual calls on the calming effects of chamomile to help you let go of energy that may be stuck after ending a relationship.

ITEMS NEEDED

  • 1 light blue or violet candle

  • 1 cup hot chamomile tea

  • Small strip of paper

  • Journal or writing paper (optional)

  • Fireproof dish

WHAT TO DO

  • Light the candle and prepare the tea.

  • If you choose to do so, journal about the feelings and thoughts you wish to release.

  • Sip on your tea as you write.

  • When you feel you've reached a point of clarity, write your name and the other person's name on the strip of paper.

  • Holding the mug of tea in both hands, inhale while saying to yourself, "My mind is clear."

  • As you exhale, imagine all the unwanted energy leaving your body, spirit, and mind. You can imagine them floating into a dar gray cloud and blow the cloud away.

  • Set down the mug and take the strip of paper in your dominant hand. Light the paper with the candle flame and drop it into the fireproof dish.

  • As you burn the paper, say aloud, "I am letting my relationship with [person's name] go now."

  • Continue sipping your tea until it is finished.

  • Gently extinguish the candle.

  • Scatter the ashes from the burned paper onto the earth or into a running stream.

  • Give thanks for the healing support you've received.
