FAMILY HEALING RITUAL

Use this ritual to heal bruises and wounds caused by misunderstandings, harsh misjudgments, and miscommunications. Set an intention to repair, reconnect, and renew family ties.

ITEMS NEEDED

  • A quiet place to find stones

  • Tissue paper or crepe paper

  • Pen

  • Bag to place stones in

  • Clean cloth upon which to work

WHAT TO DO

  • Find a quiet place where you are likely to find stones. It should be a place where you feel safe and comforted.

  • Get grounded by hugging a tree or walking with your bare feet on the earth. Ask the space for permission to collect healing stones for your family. You will need to collect one stone for each family member.

  • As you pick up each stone, hold it to your heart and say, This stone is (family member's name). Take your time. Dedicate each stone to the healing of that family member's relationship with you and every other family member. Don't forget to collect a stone for yourself.

  • Get a pen and some tissue or crepe paper. Write the name of a family member on a piece of paper and wrap the stone for that person in the piece of paper. Do this for each stone you've collected..

  • Take the stones to your home or to a place where you do spiritual work.

  • Lay a clean cloth on the floor as a work surface.

  • Use your intuition to lay out the stones in a pattern that you feel represents the family as it is not. Think about any cliques, breaks, conflicts, isolations and other group dynamics as you lay out the stones.

  • Take your time and allow yourself to become completely engaged and drawn into this, in essence you are going into a deep trance as you are dealing with these stones which are the people.

  • When you have the representation as it now is established, sit back for a time and just look at it, learn from it, explore it, KNOW what that is and what is going on on many different levels.

  • When you are ready, put both hands on your heart and say aloud:

Universal forces, guide me with love and harmony, always.

  • Now rearrange the stones. Form a new grid that flows freely with love and in balance. Instill feelings of love, support, happiness, power and strength as you work with this energy.

  • When the grid glows and/or feels 'right,' sit back, say aloud:

It is done.

  • Put all the stones together in a bag or a box and put them somewhere safe. You might want to use them again in the future to make even greater improvements as the dynamics shift.

  • Give thanks for the healing that has taken place.

CONSECRATE YOUR BROOM

Of all the magickal tools, the broom is the most useful when in hearthcraft. Here's a spell to consecrate and dedicate a broom to protect your home.

ITEMS NEEDED

  • Incense (frankiincense or sandalwood) and censer

  • Matches or lighter

  • New broom

  • Sharpie marker

WHAT TO DO

  • Center and ground.

  • Light the incense and pass the broom through the smoke to release any unwanted

  • energy.

  • With the Sharpie, write on the handle, "I sweep away any negativity," or some other

  • words to set your intention. Start near the bristles and spiral the phrase around the

  • handle.

  • When you are finished, say, "It is done."

  • When it's time to discard the broom, thank it before tossing it out.

TIPS

  • Never bring a broom from one house to another. Throw it out and buy a new one.

  • Never borrow a broom because you risk bringing unknown energy into your home.

  • The best brooms for magick are straw bristle with a wooden handle. They carry a more

natural energy which supports magickal endeavors.

  • If you prefer, you can carve the words onto the handle of the broom instead of using a

    Sharpie.

CONSECRATE DEDICATED SPACE FOR SPIRITUAL WORK

For more powerful healing, spell work, or spiritual work, start with a clutter-free space. This creates an environment ripe for connecting with outer realms and your Higher Self. Use this ritual to banish the old, unwanted energy from your private workspace. Do a thorough cleaning of the space in preparation for this ritual. Organize and empower your tools. Make a hot peppermint tea and wait for it to cool. Dip your finger in the tea and sprinkle it around the space while reciting:

This space is mine, by will Divine. May all the energy here be healed. And so it is by magick sealed.

HOME CONSECRATION

ITEMS NEEDED

  • Anointed white candles (spell or votive to allow them to burn out completely)

One of the following essential oils:

  • Cinnamon

  • Clove

  • Cypress

  • Dragon's blood (fragrance oil is acceptable)

  • Frankincense

WHAT TO DO

  • Rub your selected essential oil, undiluted, at the top and bottom of your front door.

  • After anointing the door, walk through it and close it securely.

  • With the remaining essential oil, anoint every other door and window.

  • At midnight, light anointed white candles and place them in every doorway and window sill. Use spell candles or votives to make this ritual easier because you can allow them to burn all the way down.

  • Your home is now protected with magick.

BOOST THE ENERGY OF YOUR HOME

Use this spell to boost the energy of your house first thing in the morning. It's quick and simple, and especially helpful if you’re leaving a Lazy Bag of Bones home alone. It will give them some motivation to get up and do something.

Do it while waiting for the Keurig morning brew.

ITEM NEEDED

• Broom

WHAT TO DO

  • Take your indoor broom and sweep the house. As you do, visualize any stale or negative energy dissipating as you sweep, leaving fresh, sparkling energy in its place. Say something like:

I welcome this new day. May the Universe grant me strength and keep me safe and well. Thank you. And so it is.

BED BLESSING

ITEMS NEEDED

  • 1 red cup

  • 1/2 tsp. jasmine essential or fragrance oil

  • 1/2 tsp. rose essential or fragrance oil

  • Freshly made bed with clean cotton sheets

WHAT TO DO

  • Combine oils

  • Dab a cotton ball with the oil mixture

  • Starting at the head of the bed and moving downward, touch the sheets with the cotton ball 7 times (for 7 chakras) and say:

In this bed, I show my love. In this bed, I share my body. In this bed, I give my heart. In this bed, we are as one. Here, my happiness lives as I give and live in total joy. Blessed be to me and thee.

  • Now is a great time to lie down and roll playfully in the bed. Enjoy.

ANCESTRAL ALTAR BLESSING

Our ancestors have laid a foundation upon which we can work toward higher good for ourselves, our families, the world and the universe. In the spirit realm, there are many advisors, guides and protectors waiting to help us navigate day-to-day life events. They want us to have what we want, remember who we are, and to be happy and successful in this life. An ancestral altar is a space to welcome the energy of the dead who have loved you and who, perhaps, have been friendly in your dreams and meditations. By erecting an altar, you are sending an invitation that opens you and your space to their visitations and messages, especially in times of need.

  • Meditate quietly for a few minutes. Think about what you want your altar to embody. Growth. Creativity. Peace. Health. Well being. Whatever speaks to your soul.

  • While doing this work, play music that inspires and uplifts you. My favorite is Attributes by Crystal Noldon.

  • Allow your mind to drift and pay attention to the words and images that appear. Archangel Raphael is a frequent energy I experience when working on my altar.

  • When you feel moved to do so, open your eyes and draft your own blessing. It doesn't have to be perfect. It can be a simple space dedication or an invocation to a specific angel or ancestor.

  • Close your eyes and continue to listen to your music.

  • When you feel moved to do so, open your eyes and write a second draft of your blessing, or tweak your first draft.

  • After your blessing is written, move on to adding cleansing or erecting your altar. When finished, speak your blessing over the space.

PROTECTION TEA RITUAL

Without a doubt, herbal teas possess powerful magick. Different kinds of tea provoke different responses in and from the body. Amplifying the power of tea with the practice of ritual will make it even more powerful. Whether your goal is to center, ground, protect, or manifest, there’s an herb tea for that.

  • Wash your face and hands before brewing a cup of tea. This will ensure you are starting your ritual with a blank slate.

  • Put your water on to boil. While the water is heating, close your eyes and take three deep cleansing breaths.

  • Select a cup or mug that holds special meaning and energy for you. Choose one associated with the intention you plan to set.

  • Once the water boils, turn it off and allow it to stand still until the bubbles stop.

  • Fill your cup with water and allow it to steep for the recommended period of time. Use steeping time for meditation or deep breathing to stay connected to your process.

  • When your tea is ready, bring the cup to your face. Close your eyes. Inhale deeply three times. Focus on your intention and desired results. Then, take your first sip.

  • You may continue drinking with intention, or just relax with a good book or some other leisure activity.

CELESTIAL PROTECTION FOR HOME

Here's a home protection ritual for people who enjoy artistic expression. You don't have to be a Picasso --- just have fun with it! You can diffuse marjoram essential oil to invoke its comforting, soothing and protective energy. Marjoram is also associated with prosperity.

ITEMS NEEDED

  • White or silver paint

  • 4 Black stones (rocks or gemstones)

  • White or silver paint

  • A paintbrush

  • 2 white candles

WHAT TO DO

  • You can perform this ritual at your altar, or anywhere in your home. The heart-center is a powerful space.

  • On each stone, paint a 5-pointed star and allow them to dry.

  • After drying the stones, light the two candles and place the stones between them. You can write your own incantation, prayer, or affirmation of protection.

Stones of Black and blessing star, protect our home from all harm.

  • Place one stone in each direction inside or outside --- north, south, east, and west.

  • This will also work if you place the stones in a single room, at the office, or carry one with you to work, in your book bag, wallet or in the car.

WHITE LIGHT PROTECTION FOR SELF

Any work involving healing, energy and magick should be done under protection of some kind. Here is a very simple visualization ritual to protect yourself with white light.

WHAT TO DO

  • When you feel the need for extra protection, take a few deep breaths until you feel relaxed. Close your eyes and visualize white light surrounding you like a cocoon, starting from the soles for your feet all the way up your body and covering your head.

  • As you visualize, repeat:

I am protected by white light. Nothing can harm me.

  • When you feel ready, proceed with your work.

BASIC PROTECTION FOR BEGINNERS

This is a basic, simple protection ritual that works well, especially if you are new to spellwork and rituals. This activity will strengthen your self-protection muscles and can be paired with more advanced rituals as you become more experienced.

WHAT TO DO

  • Center and ground. Visualize the earth's energy moving into your body through your feet and upward into you core.

  • Now visualize this energy expanding outward and forming a protective bubble on all six sides of your body.

  • To lock in this energy, say something like:

I invoke my personal shield. No danger or ill befalls me safe within its protection.

  • This shield remains for hours, weakening as the day goes on. Use your intuition to see if you need to reinforce any weak spots.

An energy shield like this is good because it allows you to access energy both inside your bubble, and outside of it if you wish to connect with others.

HONE YOUR SKILLS

The more you practice, the better you will become at managing your protective shield. A great exercise is to practice lowering and raising your shield quickly, in case you need to unexpectedly reach outside to connect with something or someone outside.

GROUNDING EXERCISE

Grounding is an important part of our self-care. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. From time-to-time, our vibrations shift and our spirit bodies take over, thus loosening our rootedness to the earth realm. This dynamic manifests as light headedness, excessive daydreaming, forgetfulness, and clumsiness (among other things). People who engage in spiritual work (healing, readings, channeling, clearing, etc.) can be particularly susceptible to this condition. One activity to quickly ground your energy is a brisk walk outside while holding a lighted stick of incense. Amber, frankincense, Nag Champa, or anything that feels right.

PREPARE FOR SPIRITUAL WORK

Take ample time before your ritual to select a special soap, bath salt, or herbal bath for your pre-ritual cleansing. You don't have to bathe right before your ritual. Some people bathe the night before. Work with your own schedule. If you like, dress your bath with candles, essential oils, flower petals, etc. Adding crystals to a bath can call in powerful energy (caution: some crystals are damaged by water or salt like selenite, malachite, kyanite, lapis lazuli).

  • Clear the space by sweeping, mopping, and/or vacuuming the room. Walk clockwise around the room with a smudge bundle, making sure to get smoke in every corner and closet. If you prefer, use a rattle, bell, drum or other noisemaker to loosen and remove stagnant energy. After you remove unwanted energy, make sure you do a meditation or visualization to fill the space with positive energy.

  • Wear specific colors to support your ritual.

    • White - cleansing, understanding, spiritual growth, establishing order, clarity

    • Black - transformation, banishing and releasing negative energy

    • Red - love spells, health rituals

    • Orange - encouragement, power

    • Yellow - communication, divination

    • Green - money, prosperity, god luck, fertility, employment

    • Blue - healing, psychic work

    • Violet - divination, balance

    • Silver - psychic development, meditation, warding off negativity

    • Gold - health, success, divination, good fortune

WARD OFF UNWANTED PEOPLE

ITEMS NEEDED

  • 1 black candle

  • 1 white envelope

  • 1 plastic bottle

  • 1 sheet of papyrus

  • black ink

  • water source

WHAT TO DO

  • Light the candle.

  • On the papyrus, write in black ink the name of the person you wish to banish.

  • Place the scroll inside the envelope

  • Fill the bottle with water and say:

It is my wish that (say their name) forget me. forget my family. Forget my life. Forget that I exist.

  • Place the bottle in the freezer and say:

That my request is carried out, such is my will.

  • After three days, remove the bottle from the freezer and bury the bottle in barren ground. After some time you will see that person gradually ceases to bother you.
